The Montauban East Property consists of 37 claims and covers a total area of 2290 hectares on NTS sheet 31I16. The Property is located 70km West of Quebec City and 2.5km West of the village of Rivière-à-Pierre .   A good network of gravel roads provides easy access to the property.

The Property is located within the Montauban Group of the Grenville geological Province.  This Group hosts the Montauban Mine, a past producer located 15km SW of the Property. The Montauban Mine is a volcanogenic massive sulfide deposit with a past production of 2.70Mt at a grade of 4.50%Zn, 1.50%Pb, 0.56g/t Au and 70g/t Ag. A separate, gold rich extension had additional historical resources of 923 000t grading 3.8g/t Au, 13g/t Ag and 0.30%Zn.

The Property covers an 11.5 kilometers strike length of Montauban Group stratigraphy. These favorable units were identified in 1989 during MRN geological mapping programs. Following the public release of the mapping data, airborne mag-EM followed by ground Mag and VLF surveys were performed on the Property.  As a result of the geophysical surveys, 8 diamond drill holes were drilled on a single 1500m long VLF conductor. Every drill hole reported anomalous zinc (up to 3.84% over 1.61m), silver (>50g/t over 0.30m), gold (up to 5.18g/t over 5cm), lead (up to 0.94%Pb over 0.60m) and copper over short lengths.

More work is recommended on the main VLF conductor. In this type of geological environment, ore is directly controlled by fold noses. While a favorable plane of deposition is now defined, more work should be done to detect thickenings of the mineralized unit along this plane, on strike and at depth. A gravity survey covering the length of the conductor is recommended.

Also, the compilation of historical data shows that a number  of VLF conductors similar in strength to the main conductor remain untested.

A great exploration campaign starts with a great property!
