The Lac à la Vase Property
consists of 24 claims covering a total area of The Property is located within the Grenville geological Province, in a supracrustal band belonging to the Montauban Group. This Group also hosts the Montauban Mine, a historical producer (VMS). The Property covers a 3.5km X 1.5km mafic-ultramafic intrusion with an irregular core composed of lherzolites, websterites and plagioclase clino-pyroxenites and an outer ring of gabbro and gabbro-norite. The ultramafic core of the intrusion shows local fine grained disseminations of pyrrhotite, pentlandite and chalcopyrite. No work has been reported for this property. However, a sample taken in 2004 by a MRN geologist for a metallogenic study reported grades of 0.83%Ni, 0.29%Cu and 145ppb PGE from a plagioclase orthopyroxenite with only 1.80%S. The results of the study outline an excellent potential for previously unexplored nickel-copper and PGE prospects. |
