Panache

The Panache Property is located near the Eastern end of the world renowned Abitibi greenstone belt, in the Urban-Barry segment, 120 km East of the town of Quévillon.

The Property consists of 24 claims, covering 1353 hectares in the Carpiquet Township. Access is easy via a recent network of gravel lumber roads.

The Property is located near the Northern limits of the Urban-Barry belt and is underlain by a thick sequence of mafic volcanics, showing minor intercalations of felsic units. The EW trending Urban deformation couloir runs across the center of the Property. A subsidiary structure hosts 4 surface gold occurrences on the Property, with grades of 0.45g/t to 84g/t over 0.25 to 1.5 m. These showings were discovered in 1987 by Malartic Hygrade. They were exposed by power stripping in 1996 but have never been drill tested. Line cutting, mag, VLF and IP surveys were also performed in 1996, but without follow-up. The only drilling performed on the Property consists of a stratigraphic N-S section that intersected the E-W structure in hole PA-87-03 (28.3 g/t over 0.8 m). No additional drilling has been done on this intersection or elsewhere on the Property, as Malartic Hygrade went out of business shortly after the drilling.

The Property is located in an area that was considered remote until the construction of new lumber roads. This improved access revitalized the exploration in the area. In June 2003, the joint venture Alto-Noront-Fury reported an intersection of 10.25g/t/Au over 22.85 m, 12 km SE of the Property. In October 2003, Beaufield Consolidated reported acquiring the remaining 50 % interest held by Falconbridge Limited in 4 claim groups, including the Lac Rouleau occurrence (544 000 @7.2 g/t, unknown category). The Lac Rouleau occurrence is located 16 km SE of the Property and will be worked in the course of the winter.

The Panache Property have seen a low level of exploration. Discoveries of several gold occurrences in 1987 have not been followed-up by drilling. However, mag, VLF and IP surveys were performed in 1996 and the Property would be ready to drill without extensive additional work.
